

A celebration of life for Tony "Jay Michaels" will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124.
He passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer for 7 years. Born September 5, 1950. He attended John Carroll high school. He is predeceased by his parents Jasper and Fannie (Muro) Ardovino.
He was a well known radio announcer and program director for over 50 years, hIs voice was synonymous in both radio and television commercials. His voice resonated not only through the airwaves but also in television commercials, becoming synonymous with quality and familiarity. Music was the heartbeat of Tony's life. From learning to play the drums at an early age to being a member of the Townsman band, he lived and breathed the rhythm of life. His love for the open road led him to embrace the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson, and his commitment to the community shone through his role as a member of the Jefferson County Auxiliary Deputies. Tony's infectious personality and quick wit endeared him to all who knew him. Whether through the airwaves or in person, he had a way of connecting with people that left a lasting impression. His positive spirit, love for life, and genuine kindness touched the hearts of many.
He is survived by his three sons, Anthony (Traci), Chris (Chaney), and Brian Ardovino, and four grandchildren, Tyler, Ashlyn, Ryan, and Katelyn, born to Chris and Chaney and his very special cousins.
