Venzine Milazzo Wells

Venzine, known to many as Ven, was born on May 28, 1949, in Birmingham, Alabama, to John and Tina Milazzo. A lifelong resident of Birmingham, she was a proud member of the Ensley High School Class of 1968.

Ven spent many years working as a legal secretary and retired in 2019 from Protective Life Insurance in Birmingham.

She is survived by her son, Mark Wells (Debbie), of Helena, Alabama; her beloved grandson, Sutton Wells, of Helena, Alabama; her sisters, Marianne LaRussa (James), of Homewood, Alabama, and Carmen Roberson (Bill Ellis), of Pelham, Alabama; her brother, Sammy Milazzo (Rita), of Hoover, Alabama; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Tina Milazzo, of Birmingham, Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124, on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ven was extremely generous and supported many charitable causes throughout her life, including numerous veterans’, Catholic, and children’s charities. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
