Virginia Lue Terry Harris

Virginia was a passionate Alabama Crimson Tide football fan who loved to travel to the games with her husband and friends. She enjoyed raising Standard Schnauzers, as well as other breeds of dogs, for pets and show throughout her lifetime. Her last dog was a Schihtzu rescue named Joey, who will greatly miss visiting with her.

A long-time member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, AL, Virginia was a long-time contributor to local charities, including The Seeing Eye Foundation, Jimmie Hale Mission, Jessie's Place, and animal shelters.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Frederick P. Harris; her parents, Luther and Lula Terry; two sisters, Margaret Ann Terry and Judy Cole; and five brothers, Lavert Terry, Preston Terry, Erskine Terry, Ernest Terry, and Paul Terry. Survivors include Virginia's brother, Russell Terry (Pat); cousins; nieces; nephews; and many other extended family members, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Burial will be at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
