Weldon J. Buwe

He was the husband of the late Lydia Melville Buwe, his faithful helpmate in ministry.

A native of New Orleans, he became a Christian in mid-life and began his Christian service as assistant to the President of Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham. He returned to New Orleans where he founded several non denominational ministries. After study at Dallas Theological Seminary, he planted and pastored two new evangelical Bible churches in the New Orleans area until retiring to Hoover, AL. Here he served as Minister of Missions at one church before joining Mountain Brook Community Church where he was a long time Elder and Missions Leader. He also was Chairman of the Alabama State Board of Child Evangelism Fellowship and on the Board of the Belgian Evangelical Mission. His last ministry was in the Chapel of Galleria Woods where he was a long term resident.

A service celebrating his home-going will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Mountain Brook Community Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Tim Kallam, pastor of Mountain Brook Community Church, with private burial in the mausoleum at Southern Heritage Cemetery.
