

INGRAM, WILLIAM CLAUD, age 88, of Pelham, AL, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and graduated from Birmingham Southern College. Mr. Ingram retired from Southern Natural Gas after 34 years of service. He served his country during WWII and the Korean War as a Navy medic and was a survivor of the Battle of Okinawa.
Visitation will be one hour before the Celebration of Claud’s Life at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2013 in Ridout’s Southern Heritage Chapel in Pelham. Burial, Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer, AL. Rev. Steve Taylor will officiate.
Claud was preceded in death by his parents, William and Myrtle Ingram of Ensley, AL; son, William Kyle Ingram of Pelham; and sister, Dorothy Switzer of Houston, TX. Survivors include Claud’s wife of 65 years, Sybil; son, John (Karen) Ingram of Bessemer; daughter, Claudia Harris of Adamsville, AL; brother, Cecil T. Ingram of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Bradley Ingram of Trussville, AL, Adam (Crystal) Harris of Trussville, Christy (Jay) Craton of Bessemer, and Jennifer (Shawn) Ethridge of Bessemer; great-grandchildren, Kylie Craton, Carter Craton, and Levi Ethridge; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Dr. James Cantrell and the nurses at St. Vincent’s Cancer Center, as well as to the love and care given to Claud by Evercare Hospice.
