He is survived by his son, Steve Thomas (Kathy); daughter, Kay Thomas McGinnis (James); three grandchildren, Julie Crane (Kyle), John McGinnis (Karen), and David McGinnis (Heather); five great-grandchildren, Dylan Thomas (Heaven), Kody Crane, Ava McGinnis, Grant McGinnis, and Isaiah Sloan; and two great-great grandchildren, Eden Thomas and Dylan Thomas Jr.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lois Thomas; two brothers, J.D. “Bud” Thomas and Clifford Thomas; and three sisters, Malone Hawkins, Mary McKay, and Betty Love.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City on Tuesday May 28 at 11:00am, with visitation beginning at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
