

Mrs. Emma “Jean” Hoyle, age 88, of Pell City, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, January 9, 2026. She was born on January 13, 1937, the daughter of the late William Henry Foote and Sarah Purdy Foote.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Albert “Eugene” Hoyle; her brother, Wayne Foote; her sister, Dean Goss; and her grandson, Randall Strong Jr.
Jean was a faithful child and servant of God. She devoted many years to caring for and loving children through the Alabama Sheriffs Boys Ranch and Alabama Baptist Children’s Home. She found joy in sewing and cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
She was a loving mother to her two children, Deborah Hoyle and David Hoyle (Frances). Jean was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: April Shirley (Scooter), Deann Kuhens (Bill Riley), Miles Hoyle (Megan), and Madison Teofilo (Mason). She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Kelsey Shirley, Laura Stamps, Chase Shirley, Marshall Teofilo, Miller Hoyle, and Hayes Hoyle; and two great-great-grandchildren, Braelynn Feenker and Wylder Feenker. She is also survived by her sister, Sara Bynum, along with many other cherished family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, Alabama. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with David Hoyle and Dale Foote officiating. Jean will be laid to rest at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama, on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
