Glenn Wylie Smith

A Celebration of Life Service is planned on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, with Rev. Dr. Bill Pruitt officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.

Glenn was born on June 3, 1944 to his parents, O.L. and Hermie Smith. He was a retired Land Agent for Alabama Power Company for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars in his early years, a former District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America; and Scout Master of Troop 199 in Pell City for several years, also a member of the Optimist Club of Talladega for the past 18 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Janet N. Smith of Pell City; a Son, Brian (Mandy) Smith of Cullman, AL; Brother, James (Debbie) Smith of Fruithurst, AL; a Brother-in-Law, Lloyd “Bud” Newman of Madison, AL; 4 Grandchildren; Andrew (Hope) Hudson, West Point, AL; Breanna (Kevin) Sullivan of Huntsville, AL; Katelyn B. Smith of DeFuniak Springs, Fl; and Sarah (Hunter) Higgins of Falkville, AL; 1 Great-Granddaughter; Skylar Kate Hudson; and one on the way, Amelia “Millie” Grace Higgins; along with 3 Nieces and 1 Nephew.
