SHELBY- Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmie R. Armstrong, Sr., age 83, will be held Monday, March 9, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Leeds.
Mr. Armstrong passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at his residence.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa A. Armstrong Eiland (Craig); son, Jimmy R. Armstrong, Jr. (Gail); sister, Sara Lou Connell; grandchildren, Christopher Lance Eiland, Jacob Tyler Eiland, and Barry Phillip Armstrong; and great-grandchildren, Saylor L. Eiland and Sophie L. Eiland.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Armstrong, and son, Barry W. Armstrong.
Mr. Armstrong was a native of Leeds, Alabama, and retired from American Cast Iron Pipe Company, Birmingham. He was a mason, an avid fisherman and an Alabama Football fan.
