

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Elizabeth Powell and his sister, Margaret Havens.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ann Brasfield Powell; his children, Charles Allen, Mark Young, and Deborah Wynne; his grandchildren, Mark Alan, Teri, Joe, Martha, and Melanie; and his great-grandchildren, Teddy, Andria, Elizabeth Ann, and Sabrina.
A memorial service will be held at high noon on Saturday, June 14, 2025 with a reception to follow at St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church, Pell City, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Simon Peter Episcopal Church, Pell City, AL.

Larkin “Buck” Powell was an old school southern gentleman, while also a modern-day warrior both on the ground and in the air. He was a fierce competitor in all that he did, but could also be your best buddy if you gained his trust. He was a tough man with a heart of steel, and not one to be trifled or reckoned with, but melted like butter in the presence of the ladies in our family (not so much for us guys – ha!). He lived life on his own terms and departed this Earth with the same conviction. He was respected and loved, and we will miss him.
