Laverne was born in Walker County, Alabama to Ottis and Anne Mae Key.
Laverne is survived by her daughters, Deborah Powell (Duncan) and Becky Brooks (Dennis); her grandchildren, Daniel Powell (Lacy), Jake Walker (Candace), Drew Powell, and Natalie Geno; her great grandchildren, Jaxon Powell, Harper Walker, Drake Brook, Bryson Geno, and William Kane Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Laverne was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, William Horace Beasley; her parents, Ottis and Anne Mae Key; her siblings, Royce Dean Key (Lucy), Jessie Mae Berry (John), Lennetta Key (Bill).
The public is invited to a service for Laverne on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kilgroe Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Valley Hill Memorial Cemetery, 2402 Martin St S, Pell City, Alabama 35128.
