Robert Alfred Pinard

Bob is survived by his wife, of eight years, Deborah Pinard; his sons, David Pinard and Brian Pinard; his daughter, Catherine Lang (Zachary); his daughter-in-law, Christine Pinard; his brothers, John Pinard (Geneva) and James Pinard (Dina); his grandchildren, Nicholas Pinard, Sabrina Pinard, Jacob Pinard, Ethan Lang, Ayden Lang, Jocelyn Lang and Evan Lang.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Evano and Alice Pinard and his first wife, Muriel Pinard.

Bob was a man who never thought about himself first but rather always thought of others. As an example, during his 8 year Coast Guard tenure, he risked his life to save another man who was drowning. For this he earned the James Gorman Hanley Lifesaving Award. Bob managed the IT Department at Cigna after serving in the Coast Guard. His selflessness continued all throughout his life. Even though Bob was a man of very few words, he was quick to tell a joke to try and make everyone smile. Bob came to know the Lord late in life, but what a testament to God’s saving grace! Though he will be greatly missed here on earth, we do rejoice that he is once again whole, happy, and healed with his Savior!

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 4:30pm at the Mountain View Baptist Church (5568 Chalkville Mountain Road; Birmingham, AL 35235) with a short visitation prior to the service starting at 4:00pm. The service will live stream on the church web site at https://www.mountainviewbaptist.org.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Bob Pinard to the Mountain View Baptist Church's parking lot fund (mail to the address above or visit the website and click GIVE).
