

VINCENT – Funeral service for Thomas Matthew Zopfi, IV, age 45, will be Friday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Interment will be at Vincent City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home.
Capt. Zopfi passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Zopfi, III, US Army, MAJ, Retired.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashlyn Elizabeth Zopfi; mother, Marianna A.Zopfi; brother, LTC. Michael (Deana) Zopfi, US Army; sisters, Tanya (Matthew) Osborne, Michelle (Bobby) Yancey; nieces & nephews, Mikayla Zopfi, Gannon Osborne, Miranda Zopfi, Mattie Grace Osborne, Boyce Yancey, Ella Yancey, Robert Zopfi; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Beloved father, son and brother. Graduate of Paul VI High School, Fairfax, VA 1988. Worked with the US Department of State from 1988-1990. Deputy Chief of Vincent Fire Department since early 2016. Conducted all of his training and earned all of his professional fire standard training through the Alabama Fire College in Birmingham. Veteran Firefighter with over twenty years continuous service to the Cities of Pell City, Vincent, Cahaba Valley and New London. Certified Paramedic. Instructor for Pell City and Vincent Fire Departments as well as Alabama Fire College, with extensive focus in fire and emergency services. Member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he was also a teacher of religious education. Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #12270.
