

Daniel Cotton, 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at the Hospeace House in Naples after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.
Family and friends may call on January 2, 2014 from 11:00am-12:00pm at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY. Daniel’s funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 12:00pm, burial to follow at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee. Donations in Dan’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society to help fight lung cancer, or to the Epilepsy Foundation.
Daniel was born July 26, 1959 in Waverly, NY to Paul and Betty (Wojcinski) Cotton and lived in Spencer, NY until 1968. A resident of Dundee and the surrounding areas thereafter, Dan enjoyed boxing, football and baseball, especially the Yankees . He was a man with a big heart and had a soft spot for pets and children. In his short life he touched the lives of those who knew him and is most remembered for his sense of humor. He was formerly employed at Seneca Foods in Dundee and in Geneva.
He is survived and will be missed by his uncle and aunt; Edward and Eleanor Wojcinski of Taylorsville, NC. His aunt; Florence Cotton of Spencer, NY. His cousins; Edward (Robin) Wojcinski, Jr. of Watkins Glen, NY, Eva (Jack ) Hodge of North Tonawanda, NY, and Rick (Claudia) Wojcinski of Cortland, NY. Sister-in-law Debra Cotton and nieces and nephews; Paul, Dale, Maureen, Donald and Valerie Cotton. Second cousins Emilee (Adam) Miller and Megan Wojcinski of Dundee whom he will be forever known to as “Uncle Danny”. And numerous other family members who have lost touch over the years.
Danny was predeceased by his mother Betty in January 1994, his brother Randy in August 1995 and his father Paul in March 2011.
