Diane L. Nice

Diane was born on September 17th, 1961 in Chestnut Hill, PA the daughter of Franklin C. and Doris (Lewis) Durchsprung. Diane was a member of the 1979 graduating class of Springfield Township High School in Montgomery County, PA. She had also attended Montgomery County College. Diane had worked as a computer and sales consultant for Avnet Co. and for the past nine years worked as the school secretary for the Dundee Central School. She enjoyed camping, baking, shopping and going to the beach. She had been involved in the Girl Scout Troop of Oreland, PA and was a board member and coach for the Yates County Soccer League. She always offered her assistance and service to area organizations, especially those involving the children of the community. Diane was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, who enjoyed her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Franklin and Doris Durchsprung of West Chester, PA; she is survived by her husband, David R. Nice; son, Harry David Nice; daughter, Lacey Ray Nice; grandchildren, Elliot, Quintin, and Isaiah Kotz; brother, David Lee Durchsprung of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Debra (Charles) Norman of Philadelphia, PA; mother in law, Harriet Smith; sister in law, Cheryl (Stuart) Holmes; brothers in law, G. Scott (Sandy) Nice and Bruce A. Nice; nieces and nephews, Tracy, Stephen and Kaitlyn Norman, Nicole and Zachary Durchsprung, Lisa Comly, Jennifer Straub, S. Clayton Holmes, and Jesse Nice.

Friends and family may call from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, Sept. 10th at the Townsend Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. Her funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 11th at 1pm. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Hillside Cemetery in Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or to a local Backpack Program.
