Janice E. Sackett, age 66 of Penn Yan, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 10th, 2017. Janice was born in Penn Yan on January 17th, 1951, the daughter of the late H. Spencer and Mary Louise (Houghtaling) Dunton. She was a very devoted and loving mother, who loved and cherished her grandchildren. Janice enjoyed writing, especially creating poetry. She is survived by her children, Mary (Dan) Gardner of Webster, Stephen (Teri) Bertch of Italy Valley, and Nikki Sackett of Rushville; her beloved grandchildren, Dustin, Thomas, Stacy, Dale, Spencer, Arianna and Janel; as well as, several cousins and extended family members. A graveside gathering will be held at 1pm Monday, November 20th, 2017 at Italy Valley Cemetery on Italy Valley Rd. in the Town of Italy.
