Joan H. Snyder

Joan Snyder, 78 of Penn Yan , passed away unexpectedly on January 2nd at Highland Hospital in Rochester.

Family and close friends will have visitation on Febuary 22nd from 6 - 7 pm with a memorial service to follow at 7pm at Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, NY. Burial will be held at a later date with family. Memorial donations may be made to

Joan was born October 15, 1934 in Avoca NY. She was the daughter of Katherine and Fred Long. She was raised in Pennsylvania.

Joan was a full time mother to 7 children, and also raised 2 grandaughters. She was a loving babysitter to many familys, and all of them she loved as her own. Joan loved to crochet and spending time with her great grandaughter who she called her angel baby .

Joan will be sadly missed by many. She is survived by 6 children, Cindy Bechard, David Snyder, Pamela Snyder, Connie (Roger) Hayes, Karen (Richard) Multer, Heidi (Phil) Catlin. 8 Grandchildren Michelle Williamson, Jennifer Williamson, Eric Multer, Micheal Catlin, Brittany Catlin, Casey Catlin, David Snyder Jr, Heather Reed . 5 Great grandchildren Lilah Jo Williamson ( her angel baby ), Nathan and Natalie Snyder, Liem and Ayla Reed. Her sister Janet (bill) Simmons, and brother Ronnie Long.

She is predeceased by her daughter Kelly Jo Williamson, husband James Snyder, parents Katherine and Fred Long, sisters Arden Fay Masso, and Glendine Oxinrider, brothers Bobbie Long, Leon Long , and Marvin Long.
