Alfred Jablonski, 85, of Pensacola passed away Monday, February 07, 2011.
Mr. Jablonski was born December 21, 1925 in Berlin, Germany. He was a soldier in World War II and spent five of those years as a prisoner of war in Siberia. After the war Mr. Jablonski immigrated to the United States. He retired from civil service aboard NAS Pensacola. He was a member of the HANSA Club, the Y.M.C.A. and was a soccer referee for the youth groups of Pensacola. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Renate Jablonski; sons, Bernd “Ski” Jablonski and Manfred “Fred” Krause; daughter, Debbie King; eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel with Pastor David Robatzen officiating.
Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
Mr. Jablonski’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff of Baptist Hospital SINU and the staff of Select Specialty Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Mr. Jablonski. They would like to extend a special thank you to special friends for their love and support.
