1922-2018
Alleyne Cowart passed away at the age of 95 on April 20,2018. She was born in Alexander City, Alabama to Floyd and Marguerite Walston. She grew up in Panama City, Florida, where she met her husband of 65 years, Ray Cowart.
She is survived by their three children: Connie (Mike), Sam (Toni) and Pam. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.
Alleyne loved her family dearly and loved for them to lavish her with attention. She was a character. She loved to entertain her grandchildren and great grandchildren with stories she created about “Teeny Weenys.” She loved to watch old movies with them and take them shopping. She was fun. She was ornery with her sharp sense of humor intact until the end. We love her. She will most certainly be missed.
Alleyne loved her church, Plainview Baptist, and was active there until her health would not permit.
Pallbearers are her grandsons Mike Mickle and Doug Cowart and great, great grandsons Nathan Cornelius, Ian Locke, Austin Ritcheson and Arik Ritcheson.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a service at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home on Nine Mile Road.
Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
