Art spent his childhood and adolescence as a traveler, living in such places as Guam; Florida; and Chillicothe, OH but always called Pensacola home. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School with the class of 1985. He maintained friendships from those days until the end. He joined the Coast Guard in the fall of 1985 and his service as a sailor was one of his proudest accomplishments. He would go on to serve in the Military Sealift Command continuing his service to the armed forces. Upon returning home he worked construction for many years with his favorite Uncle Don. He then married the love of his life, Sharon, and gained a son, Josh. Soon after, they expanded their family, and Art became the proud father to Savannah and Joss.
The light of his life was his granddaughters Abigail and Amelia. Becoming a “Pa-Paw” was his second most proud accomplishment. He soaked every moment he got to spend with them. His eyes lit up with pride and joy whenever he spoke of his granddaughters, and his face beamed with love as he watched them grow.
Art loved going to Johnson’s beach, snorkeling, swimming to the sand barrier, flying kites, reading books, all things Harry Potter, learning about history, reminiscing on his younger days, and enjoying a night of libations.
Art is predeceased by his father, Plynn “Butch” Perrott; his stepfather, Aloysius “Al” Kempa and several family members and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Kempa; his children, Savannah Walters, Joss Woods, and Joshua Carpenter; mother of his children and wife of 25 years, Sharon Perrott; siblings, Chris Kempa (Candice) and Marie Bumgarner (Billy) and special friend, Lynette Bethel of Columbus, OH. He also leaves behind many other close family members and friends.
The loss of our dear Arthur is felt by his entire family and our world will never be the same.
