She split her childhood between Smoke Rise, NJ (Kinnelon HS, graduate of 1969) and Baton Rouge, LA. Her childhood featured many moves across the country, which resulted in interesting accents and an ability to make friends quickly.
Betsy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Law from Pennsylvania State University in 1973 and she was even featured in the school paper as Ms. Mystery Legs (look it up)! She also completed graduate coursework at both Louisiana State University as well as Pensacola State College.
Betsy was honored to work with her parents as a VP and President at Wildon Industries Inc. in Mt. Bethel, PA. This company created synthetic marble eventually selling patents to Formica Corp allowing the family to retire to Florida and Betsy to raise her children.
Betsy never could sit still and spent her retirement as a Real Estate Manager and Investor and was recognized as a Continental Who’s Who in 2017 for her accomplishments.
She also volunteered at the Florida Office of the Attorney General in the Seniors vs Crimes Program a project run by seniors who volunteer time and talent to help victims of senior-targeted crimes. Her work here earned her a nomination for the 2019-2020 Advocate of the Year.
Those who worked with Betsy admired her tenacity and her keen communication skills. She would have made an excellent attorney and chose instead to volunteer her services for those seeking justice.
Betsy grew up riding horses and eventually settled for loving dogs as big as horses (specifically Bullmastiffs). She raised numerous bullmastiffs and left behind her treasured Hanna.
Betsy had a caring heart for those in need and credited her parents with providing her with a life rich with opportunities and experiences. She was a dedicated mother to her daughters and her animals. Her favorite times were with her daughters when they could travel or relax together, always around great food and laughter. Anyone that knew Betsy knew she was truly one of a kind.
Betsy was predeceased by her mother and father. She is survived by her ex-husband Walter Kostevicki and her daughters Cassie Kostevicki (Jeff Anderson) and Stacey Kostevicki (George T. Johnson).
