Betty Jo Guertin was born in Milton, Florida on September 20, 1931. She began her eternal rest on August 26, 2024 at the age of 92. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time at the beach surrounded by family.
She leaves behind the following: spouse Jerry Guertin; brother Robert (Joy) Ward; son Michael (Rhonda) Hitchcock and daughter Cyndee (Stephen) Gaidosh; grandchildren, Sanquinetta (Drew) Higgins, Gabriel (Adriana) Gaidosh, Michael (Natalie) Hitchcock, Jr., Jessica (Daniel Martin) Gaidosh, and Zachary (Taylor Sullivan) Gaidosh. Betty Jo also had several great-grandchildren.
What can you say about a life that spans 92 years? Her life was filled with laughter, tears, joy, disappointment, love and wonder. Betty Jo enjoyed traveling, growing flowers, reading, spending time with her family, and trying her hand at crafts. If you are lucky, you may have one of her creations in your home. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and there are many because she never met a stranger.
"Miss me, but let me go.
For this journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
I want no rites in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Laugh at all the things we used to do.
Miss me, but let me go."
A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 5 at 10:00 AM at Bayview Memorial Park.
Sleep well, momma.
