

Clare M. Davis was born on April 29, 1957, with her twin sister, Shanon, in Montgomery, Alabama to Cecil and Janice Davis. Clare was raised in Pensacola, Florida graduating from Escambia High School and Pensacola State College (PCJ) and obtaining her bachelor’s degree from University of Florida. Clare worked as a Medical Technologist for Sacred Heart Hospital and the Veteran’s Administration for 38 years.
Clare’s true passion was playing music. She was an accomplished fiddler, playing in various groups throughout her life, including weekly sessions in Fairhope and Mobile AL. Clare also played recorders with the Pensacola Early Music Consortium. Her musical talents included guitar, upright bass, penny whistle, ukulele, and clarinet. Among her many hobbies were woodworking, native plant gardening, birdwatching, origami, crocheting and cycling. Clare carried an entrepreneurial spirit having operated many small businesses, with her most recent endeavor designing and patenting a musical accessory now sold worldwide. Clare was an active supporter of many environmental and political causes, always trying to make life better for others.
Clare passed away on January 10, 2025, from a primary brain tumor. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Pensacola, FL at 2pm on March 1, 2025.
Clare is survived by her partner, Virginia, her brothers, Kia (Kathe), Chris (Evie), nieces Lauren (Eric), Lily, Kade(Johnnie) and nephew Jeff (Allie) as well as two great nieces and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Clare was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Shanon, brother Dewitt and her treasured poodle, Max.
