I just learned of Dan’s passing today.  I worked with him at Winchester Hospital and he was a pleasure to be around.  Always seemed to be in a good mood and would always take the time to speak to you.  He was a true gentleman.  Prayers and condolences to his family during their time of loss.

My heart and thoughts go out to you during this time of sorrow. I loved Dan, he was so supportive to me while working for LP and when I lost my job. Dan checked on me on a weekly basis to make sure I was ok mentally. Dan always asked how my mom was as well as she is suffering from cancer as well. Dan was an amazing HR leader, friend, confidant, and co-worker. He was one of a kind. I will miss him dearly.

I’ve known my cousin my whole life.  The Burchfield family was a big one - and growing up, I always admired Dan’s ability to keep succeeding and growing.  Carleen was the shining star added to his life to make it complete. 

My husband Mike and I were proud to be in Pensacola to celebrate his life.  Dan deserved to be honored and remembered, and I’ll carry the memories of him with me always.  His kindness, love and humor were his strength and character and he will be missed beyond measure.  Carleen, we love you and continue to pray for your comfort.

It was a pleasure caring for Dan during his last and final stay in our hospital. I will never forget his gentle manners and unwavering sense of humor. “I better call my boss,” he said, moments after receiving the news. “What I’m hearing is, I will NOT in fact be going back to work this year.” Dan faced his diagnosis unflinchingly, and remained himself until the very end. He left our hospital for the comfort of home, but I have no doubt that he died as he lived, being courteous and gracious, and making those laugh who were fortunately enough to know him. May he rest in peace.

He was a warrior. He loved  Carleen & his Family. He amazed  me with his determination to continue to work , care for his family & always be kind, caring & gracious.

I am so sorry for your loss! My prayers are with the entire family. Dan was a great colleague who became an incredible friend. I am going to miss all our conversations which usually center around family, especially his “bride”. We lost an amazing man but he will not be forgotten! May you find strength and healing from the eternal love of our Lord God. He is with us even through our darkest hours!

Dan, the best brother-in-law.  I will miss him so very much. I will miss him calling me “Sis”.  He was always the most caring and ready to help with concerns and problems I had.   So many fun trips and special treats of going to Concerts.  He was a true gentleman and cared about everyone.  I don’t believe there was anything that he could not do, from building decks, outdoor kitchens, cooking (his special meatloaf and chicken and dumplings) along with many other great meals. My sister, Carleen, is so lucky to have had the love of this great man and I am lucky to have had such a great brother-in-law.

We love and miss you sooo much GranDanno!!!

My sincere condolences to Dan's wife and family. I had the absolute privilege of working with Dan at the hospital in Winchester, TN during which time we became friends. He had a gift for encouraging people with a kind word, and making those around him feel special. This world was a better place because Dan was in it and he will truly be missed. I pray for peace and comfort for his family and friends during this difficult time. May God bless each of you.
