Dad- I wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you and missing you every day.  You truly don't know how much the people in your life mean to you until they are gone.  I'll be thinking of all the happy memories and how much we loved each other.  I wish we had more time together.  Love, Eileen

David was the youngest of my 7 brothers.  We were very close growing up in our younger  years and then in our senior years.  Even with our ups and downs through the years  we always loved each other.  I will forever miss him.

Dave was my father-in-law. When I met, fell in love with, and married his daughter he welcomed me into his family as one of his own. When Dan and Carolyn came along he did his level best to "spoil 'em rotten", as grandparents do. His love for all of us was plain to see. During our last visit with Dave and Dolly they took us on one of their favorite outings at the time, a day trip to Biloxi. We had a wonderful time. On the way back we stopped and Dave took us on a tour of the battleship Alabama. His patriotic pride was apparent as he showed us around. A fond memory for sure but the highlight for me that day was quietly enjoying the several strangers that stopped Dave, shook his hand and thanked him for his service. Such simple gestures can mean so much. 
 Just a snip in time there, so many more memories where that came from. Rest in peace, we will miss you.

You were one of my favorite people when I was a young girl Uncle Dave. I have not seen you for many years...however the memories are there like they were yesterday and I will always have them. You were a kind sole and I thank you for being one of those people that made me what I am today.
Hopefully the memories we have of you will bring us peace in the coming years

You will be missed my" favorite" Uncle DaDa!  Thank you for all the unconditional love for over half a century.  Remembering that your house was always my house too.  Love to Dolly and the extended Sherman clan.

The Challis family is deeply saddend by the lose of my father's best friend. He was always like family to us and will always be remembered at uncle Dave to me. As a little girl he spoiled me with love and his handsome smile. He was the only one that I allowed to call me Mandy. Uncle Dave you were the light in our lives. You are in a peaceful place and you can finaly rest. You will forever be our angel. I love you!
