

Donald R Meyer honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and before retirement served at the following locations: NTC Great Lakes, Illinois (June 1948-September 1948); Imperial Beach/NTC San Diego, CA (October 1948-June 1949); Guam (July 1949-October 1949 and 1962-1964) NAVCOMMSTA; Yokuska, Japan (1949-1951) COMM. Unit 35; Cheltenham, MD (1951-1953 and 1958-1962) NAVCOMMSTA, Washington D.C.; Port Lyautney, French Moroco (1953-1958) NAVCOMM FAC; London, England (1956-1958)CINCNELM; For Meade, MD (1964-1966) NSA; Pensacola, FL (1966-1969) NTTC; Bremerhaven, W. Germany (1969-1972) NSGA; Stuttgart, W. Germany (1972-1974) NSAEUR; and Washington D.C. (1974-1975) COMNAVSECGRU COMMAND.
Donald retired from service in 1975 and presided in Pensacola since his retirement. He was a member of the Navy Cryptologic Veterans Association and a Life Member of the Military Officers' Association of America.
He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Julia A. Hornor Meyer; and his wife of 13 years, Dolores A. Winter Meyer.
Donald is survived by his Daughters, Cynthia A. Clarkson, Linda M. Skytte (James), and Diane Best (Tom); his Step Daughters, Carol Fries (Ken), Janet Stone (Neal), and Patricia Stader; his Step Sons, Michael Winter, Keith Winter (Patty), and Alan Winter (Paula).
A graveside service for Donald will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola, FL 32508; where he will be laid to rest with his wife, Julia A. Meyer.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations please be made to Emerald Coast Hospice in Donald's name.
