Dora Mae (Hawkins) Toole was born to Leola Mae Blocker Hawkins and Charles Alfred Hawkins on August 7, 1927. She passed away on May 7, 2020 after an extended illness.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Toole, Jr., her mother and stepfather, Leola and Pat Cherry, and her infant daughter, Darla Marie Toole.
She is survived by sons: Robert (Patricia) Toole, Kenneth (Donna) Toole and Donald (Patty) Toole; her grandchildren: Robin Bradley (Leon), Cindy (Ernie) Ritchie, Robert Toole, Jr. (Carla), Trina Reaves, Zachary (Katie) Toole, and Jennifer (Jason) Godwin; 19 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.
Dora enjoyed her work as a telephone operator at NAS Pensacola, her church work at The Community of Christ Church, and being a baseball mom for her boys.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Pruitt Healthcare and Covenant Hospice for their kindness, care and compassion for our Mother and the help lovingly given to us during her long illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to these or your favorite charity.
Due to the current health crisis, a private memorial will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery. A Viewing will be held there at 1:00 p.m., prior to a graveside service. Wayne Blocker of The Community of Christ Church will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Worley, Leon Bradley, Ernie Ritchie, Larry Murphy, Zachary Toole, and Josh Toole.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bayview Fisher-Pou Funeral Home.
