Dorothy "Dot" Hamby Thompson, 93, of Cantonment, FL passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2025. Dot was born in Atmore, AL in 1932 to parents, Artwell and Marie Hamby. During Dot's time in Cantonment, she became a devout and faithful member of First Church of Nazarene until she was unable to attend. She loved her church family dearly. Dot also enjoyed going to garage sales and finding hidden treasures to resell at the local flea market. Dot is survived by her son, Terry (Pamela) Thompson; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bradley) Naylor and Mark (Meghan) Thompson; four-grandchildren; one sister, Apsie Poe Harper; and a niece, Pamela. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Julius Fred Thompson; and her parents, Artwell and Marie Hamby.

A visitation will be held at Eastern Gate Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6th at 1PM, followed by a funeral service at 2PM.
