Edith Wiginton Hall, “Mimi”, passed away Sunday, the 3rd of October, 2010. Mrs. Hall was born May 26, 1919, to James and Frances Wiginton, in Hackleburg, Alabama.
She was the loving wife to Sam J. Hall, Jr., for fifty-nine years, until his death in 2004.
Mrs. Hall, who had eight brothers and sisters, grew up in Hamilton, Alabama. She served as a Navy Waves nurse during World War II, from 1942 to 1945.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pensacola, for approximately 65 years.
Mimi, with the sparkling brown eyes, loved her family and enjoyed cooking and eating good food, movies, playing bridge, watching the Florida Gators play football and taking care of her family. She was a long-time member of the Pensacola Garden Club.
She is survived by her two children, Jane Hall Finn and Samuel Monroe Hall, of Pensacola; five grandchildren, Donnie, Natalie, Samantha, Edie and Katie; six great grandchildren, Mary, Jack, Dimitri, Liza, Peyton and Emaline and Samantha’s poodle, Maddie.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 07, 2010 at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 North 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
