

Edward “Willie” Leonard Williams, 78, of Scranton, PA passed away peacefully on November 1, 2016 in Pensacola, FL. He was born to Edward Williams and Julia Nebesney on May 1, 1938. Edward retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior chief. After his retirement from the Navy, he started his own heating and air business. He was a lifetime member of the Elk's Lodge of Warrington #2108, an active volunteer at the NAS Pensacola National Aviation Museum. He also volunteered with the Special Olympics and was Santa Claus for close neighbors for over 20 years. He loved life, spending time with family and friends, and making people happy.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Williams. Edward is survived wife, Mila, sons Bernard Williams and Raymond Byrne, daughters, Debra Pearson, Michelle Farrior, Susan Williams, Ruth Proctor, and Kathleen Donnelly, sisters Judy Trager and Karen Poniatowski. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held November 18, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with a memorial service to follow. Edward will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:50 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Covenant Hospice. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
