Earl was born April 19, 1942 to Ernie and Gladys Cartwright in Jay, Florida. While growing up he worked on his family farm. After graduating from Jay High School in 1960, he moved to Pensacola and began working at Delchamps. In1964, Earl served in the U.S. Army. Upon completion of his military service he went back to work for Delchamps. There, he retired as District Manager after 35 years.
Earl met the love of his life, Donna (Shannon) Cartwright and they married in 1968. They had one child, Mary Cartwright Howard and two grandchildren, Gunnar and Jordan.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Cartwright.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, two sisters, Lynette Thorpe and Ann Newman; one niece, Debra Roach; and one very special friend, Wayne Neeley.
Earl passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2024.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24th at 10:00 a.m. with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
