Frances Johnson “MeMe” Conner passed away January 20, 2015 with her loving family at her side. She was born May 31, 1939 in McBee, South Carolina. She moved to Pensacola, Florida in 1954 to live with her sister Evelyn. “MeMe” worked for Chemstrand for 10 years. She worked for the Coca Cola Company before hiring on at NAS Main side, Pensacola, FL. She transferred to Ellison Field before finishing her career of 27 years at Saufley Field.
“MeMe” loved to go to the casinos in Biloxi, Mississippi, and playing bingo at Big Top Bingo. She also loved spending time with her sister Evelyn, as they were not only sisters, but best friends forever.
“MeMe” was preceded in death by her parents Ariel and Mollie Ethel Johnson and a sister, Margie Brown. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, W. John Conner, sons, John W. (Martha) Conner, and Wes (Susie) Conner, four sisters, Sylvia Ray, Evelyn Barkley, Bonnie Marsh, and Carolyn Hopkins. She left behind four grandchildren, Chrissy Conner, Amy Chafin, Karen (Justin) Lassiter, Sara (Dakota) Turner, and three great grandchildren, Jeremy Flippin, Carter Chafin, and Kaylie Chafin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 24, 2015 from 9:00 am till 9:30 am for family. Family will receive friends and guest from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with services starting afterwards. Services will be held at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens located at 1985 West Nine Mile Road.
