

Fred was born on August 10, 1951 at the Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Curtis Dwiggins, Jr. and Marjorie Coburger (Dwiggins) Ellsworth and is survived by his siblings: Sharon Davis (Pete), Donna Dwiggins, Francine Herb (Bob), Patricia Dwiggins-Harrison (Mike), Anne Dwiggins, and William (Bill) Dwiggins and nieces and nephews: Cindy, Billy, Liam, Lindsey, Hans, John, Marina, Jenna, Kody, Nesrin, Max, Hayes, Neipwi and Sabienne.
He attended Escambia High School and graduated from College of the Siskiyous in California. After graduation, he lived in Salem, Oregon for ten years working for Boise Cascade. Fred then returned to Pensacola and worked as a foreman in the underground utilities sector until his retirement in 2011.
Known as “The Wolfman” by his family and closest friends because of his affinity for the radio DJ “Wolfman Jack”, he loved music, playing his harmonica and guitar. His avid interest in military history and naval aviation was fueled by his father’s wartime stories as a Naval Aviation Pilot. Fred also enjoyed league bowling and pool at Cordova Lanes as well as hunting, fishing and collecting guns.
A visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Rd., Pensacola, FL on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 2-3 pm with a memorial service and luncheon to follow at 3 pm.
