Freddie Harris Brown Sr.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Ann of Robertsdale, Al; his 8 children: Joyce and Pete Bruce of Marrero, LA; Linda Tamayo of Gretna, LA; Wanda and Chester Miles of Port St Joe, FL; Fred and Yvonne Brown, Jr. of Downing, Mo; Macy and Mark Lee of Marianna, FL; Heidi Hall of Robertsdale, AL; Donna Brown of Shreveport, LA; and Freddy Brown of Marianna, FL.

He is also survived by an uncle James Horton of White City, FL; brothers Joudie Brown of Tallahassee, FL; Tom Shuler of Gautier, MS; Asa Brown of Hazlehurst, GA; Joudie Brown, Jr. of Moultrie, GA; sisters Jackie Mathis of Hazlehurst, GA; Vanessa Green of Hazlehurst, GA; Freida Garcia of Fair Play, SC. He has 11 grandchildren and 5 1/2 great grandchildren and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fred was a Marine Electrician by profession, but a master of many trades. He loved working with and serving his family and community. He lived with ALS for 18 years and selflessly contributed to its research and cure. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to any ALS research foundation or that fruit tree be planted in his memory. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL. Visitation and Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 10:00 am until Service time 11:00 am at Hamilton Baptist Church, 32815 County Road 112, Robertsdale, AL (251 931 3037). Burial to follow, in Hamilton Baptist Church Cemetery.
