

She was born in Long Beach, CA, November 26, 1935, to William J. and Barbara Sheppard Richter. She graduated from Bay County High School in Panama City, FL, in 1952 and Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, in 1956.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William F. Starkweather of Pensacola; and two sisters, Barbara DeReuil of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Rhoda Dessommes of New Orleans, LA.
She is survived by her brothers, William J. Richter, Jr. (Clare) of Charleston, SC, and Edward D. Richter of Pensacola; daughters Lucy S. Davis (Barry) of Eufala, AL; Catherine S. Pacheco (William) of Falls Church, VA; Pegi S. Hoffman (Richard) of Pensacola; and sons John W. Starkweather (Helen), of Orlando, FL; George T. Starkweather (Kris) of Gulf Shores, AL; Peter M. Starkweather of Pensacola; David J. Starkweather of San Francisco, CA; Mark F. Starkweather of Pensacola; Thomas R. Starkweather (Lenny) of Annandale, VA; and Steven M. Starkweather (Lauren) of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Genevieve was employed at the West Florida Regional Library for 21 years, was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church for 33 years, a former member of Pensacola Quilters Guild, and a volunteer for Alpha Center. She was a seventh generation Pensacolian.
Viewing will be Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m., at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3131 Hyde Park Road, Pensacola, FL. Mass of Christian Burial will follow viewing.
Burial service will be at Barrancas on Friday morning, February 25, 2022. Procession will form at Bayview Memorial Park, 3355 Scenic Highway, at 9:00 a.m.
