

He was born on July 11, 1942 in Massillon, Iowa to Walter and Edna Mess.
Glenn joined the Navy at age 17 and attained the rank of BT Master Chief (nuclear) retiring after 22 years. He was very proud to have served on the USS Enterprise CVN-65 and USS California CGN-36 as a plank holder, in addition to numerous other ships.
After Glenn retired, he joined the Coen Company as a technical representative for the next 20 years and traveled the world.
Glenn loved his family, golf and reading. He was a lover of animals and supporter of many charities. Glenn was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Susan of 41 years and his children, Ramey Mess (son) and Rhonda Mess (daughter) and Gail (sister). In addition, he leaves behind five grandchildren; Chanler, Brittany, Jessica, Jaden and Dana and five great grandchildren.
Glenn is preceded in death by his son Daniel, brother Neal and sister Neva.

A Visitation for Glenn will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside Service at Barrancas will be on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 9:00 am. Please be at Oak Lawn Funeral Home at 8:30 am for procession.
