Hazel Lee Gonzalez1922 - 2015Hazel Lee Gonzalez passed away to join her Father in Heaven on Sunday, March 15, 2015, in Pensacola, FL at the age of 93. Hazel was born in Pensacola, February 15, 1922, to Ephraim and Lottie Taylor. She was the 5th of 11 children. She graduated from Pensacola High School and was married to Harry Gonzalez. She joined the Pensacola Baptist Temple in 1950, and remained a faithful member throughout her life. She was an amazing Christian woman who was both gentle and strong. She shared her passion and talent for cooking with all those who were dear to her. Her sweet and loving spirit will live on in all the lives she touched. Proverbs 31:10 might describe her best. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." She is survived by her daughter Maria Smith, of Pensacola, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Dolores Gonzalez, of Lillian, AL; a sister, Alice Masters, and a brother, Robert Taylor, both of Pensacola, FL; six grandchildren, David E. (Terri) Williams, James A. Williams, Teresa (John) Peck, Darrin L. (Rachel) Williams, DeAnna (Joe) Carnes, and Brett W. Gonzalez; and eleven great grandchildren. Hazel is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harry Lee Gonzalez, as well as four brothers, Charles Taylor, Edward Taylor, Alonzo Taylor, and Herman Taylor, of Pensacola, FL; and one sister, Louise Calhoun of Macon, GA.Visitation will be held Friday, March 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Scenic Highway. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Glen Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayview Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and join the family in celebrating her life. Pallbearers will be David E. Williams, James A. Williams, Darrin L. Williams, Brett W. Gonzalez, Taylor L. Peck, Austin J. Peck, Darrin L. Williams II, and Zachary W. Carnes. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pensacola Baptist Temple.
