Hazel (Doll) Floyd McArthur, 94, of Pensacola, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 5, 2019. Hazel was born on April 30, 1925 in Brewton, Alabama to Henry and Pearl Floyd. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Dobson (Robert); grandsons, Ryan McArthur Crafts (Judy) of Yakima, Washington, and Eric George Crafts (Nina) of Pensacola; sister, Mildred Heaton of Jay, Florida; brother, Nick Floyd (Joan) of Panama City, Florida; one precious great-granddaughter, Alexis Fornecker of Pensacola, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Edward McArthur, her daughter, Cynthia McArthur Pearson, her son Garry Edward McArthur, her sister, Pauline Sapp, and three brothers, Earl Floyd, Ben Floyd, and Jake Floyd.
Hazel is a member of the Ensley Church of Nazarene. In the past she served as her Sunday school treasurer and enjoyed her church family immensely. Hazel was employed for 23 years by Monsanto Company where she made lifelong friends.
Her nickname, Doll, was given to her by her brother, Ben, who thought she looked like a little doll when she was born. The nickname stuck and throughout her life she was known as “Doll” to many of her friends and relatives.
Hazel loved flowers of all kinds and spent many happy hours working in her garden. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. We will love and miss her forever.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 1-2pm at Eastern Gate Funeral Home Chapel followed immediately by a funeral service at 2pm.
