

Ron Smith, 71, of Gulf Breeze, a devoted husband, loving father, and faithful Christian, passed away on December 19th 2025 surrounded by family who cherished him deeply. His life was a testament to compassion, perseverance, and unwavering generosity.
Born in Red Level, Alabama, Ron had three brothers and two sisters that he loved dearly. He was an athlete and was the quarterback of the high school football team. He earned a degree in accounting from Troy University and a Masters in Computer Systems from Auburn University at Montgomery and spent his career as a consultant delivering software solutions to construction companies all over the country.
Ron met the love of his life, Debbie, in 1979 and his love and adoration for Debbie was unshakable. Ron and Debbie had four children - Cameron, Summer, Joshua, and Caleb. His precious daughter Summer was called home to Jesus in 2002.
Known for putting everyone else before himself, he had a heart that was always open and hands that were always ready to serve.
He had a passion for missions and spent his free time working with orphanages, discipling to prisoners, and helping anyone in need.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Nadine Smith, his daughter Summer Smith, his brothers Dan and Gary Smith, and his mother and father-in-law Myrtice and Arthur Gwathney. He leaves behind his greatest joy - his wife Debbie, sons Cameron(Alessa) Smith, Josh Smith, Caleb Smith, grandson Graham Smith, brother Terry (Sandy) Smith, sisters Linda (Brian) Rasmussen and Donna Williamson, and many nieces and nephews.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and selfless love. His life changed countless others, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 29th 2025 at Coastline Calvary Chapel, 1122 Oriole Beach Road, Gulf Breeze, Florida. Visitation will be from 11-11:45am and the service will begin at noon. Interment will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway is entrusted with arrangements.
