Irene L. Mackritis

She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and her family later moved to Steuben, Maine. Linda was a hairdresser in Maine for several years and managed a beauty shop there until she married her husband William, in 1972. Bill was in the Navy, and he and Linda traveled to Panama and Spain and made many great memories and friends while he was active duty. They settled here in Pensacola, where Linda has been a resident for 33 years.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years William Mackritis; her two daughters, Stacy Mackritis and Melody Meier; beloved granddaughter, Mackenzie Irene Meier; brothers James Benner, David Benner, Steven Benner; and sisters, Donna Mellecker, and Judy Potter.

We want to thank Covenant Hospice for all of their kind support and delicate care of our precious mother.

A memorial time to honor and celebrate Linda’s memory will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:30am till 11:30am then burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
