I never really got to spend time with Irwin, Ian, and Iris as they were growing up.  When he was young and when our families got to see each other, he seemed to me to be a very shy boy.  Let’s fast forward to 2006!  My very short interaction with Irwin during our Lola Lita's funeral was such an eye opener as to how wonderful a young man he had grown up to be.  I guess I should not have been too surprised given that he had two wonderful parents, Kuya Cedric and Ate Daisy.  I found it interesting that he was able to captivate my attention while he talked to me about his work dealing with human resources and personnel.  I normally would catch myself hiding a yawn here and there when it comes to these types of topics but there I was, listening to his every word.  That's only one of his very many gifts I have come to find out, especially after seeing the outpouring of love and affection during his "farewell".  But nothing can make his eyes gleam brighter than when he talked about his boys, that’s for sure!  It was a blessing that we got to see him last year and got to spend a little bit of time with him and his loved ones.  Seeing his strength even when he was at his weakest was so inspiring and I admit, has put me to shame as I complain about the most menial of things in life.  It will be a continuous challenge for his immediately family to adjust not having his larger-than-life presence around them and I admire them for their courage.  We revel at the thought that he is now with The Lord. I'm not quite sure how things really work up in heaven, but I think right about now, he has been outfitted with his own customized-turbo wings and still, Irwin will continue to work on making his wings go even faster – “just because.”  We love you Irwin!

Irwin, though we never had so much time together due to distance, I have known you to be a caring and wonderful nephew. When I visited you in Florida, the more I appreciate how kind and loving you are! We will truly miss you. You're in Gods' hands already and you now have eternal happiness and peace.You are now our angel who will guide us and guard us!

Irwin was a good friend and one of the nicest people you could ever come in contact with! He had a magnetic personality to go with his incredible smile! He also was a very funny and loyal person, who had a love for basketball, which he was exciting to watch when he played! My prayers are with his immediate family, including his kids, as well as, the whole DeGuzman family! Irwin, you will be missed and always be remembered!

Irwin always had the biggest smile on his face and was never one to be too serious. That's what I remember most about him - the fact that he really loved life and lived it with joy. To the Deguzman family, we love you so much and wish we could have been there to honor his memory & celebrate his life with you.

I used to work with Irwin, he was such a nice and funny guy. I'm am extremely shocked by this and my heart goes out to his children!

I had the privilege of meeting Irwin and Iris when they visited in the Summer before my senior year in high school. That was one of the best Summers I had. I had so much fun at his cousins' house hanging out with the family and friends and building our monument (the gazebo in Aunty's backyard). During that time, I really got to know Irwin and he became one of my closest friends and brother. 

Irwin was like a big kid who was larger than life. He would also open up to anyone willing to listen. I remember having our late night conversations waiting for his cousin Jeff to get home from work. He had an infinite reservoir of love for his family, friends, and especially for his 2 boys.  

You are gone my Brother, but never forgotten. You will remain living in all of our hearts.

Irwin was a kind, sincere, and caring person. He was always smiling and willing to help anyone in need. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him as he left a last impression in my life.  The Chase family will cherish the memories forever.  My heart goes out to his family in this tough time.

Irwin has alway been a kind and thoughful person.  He was always there to help whenever I called.  He will truly be missed and will be in my thoughts and prayers.

It was a privilige to share the last few days with you and honor your son Irwin. It was so apparent from the time we spent with you how many people loved him and he was a friend to so many people. You must be proud of the influence he has had on so many lives. Let his memory live on in our hearts and know that he is now in peace but will be sadly missed by so many.

Our deepest condolences to Kuya Cedric and his family for the passing of their son Irwin. Although we haven't got the chance to meet and know Irwin, his dad Cedric is close to our family. May he rest in peace.

My heart and prayers go out to his family, and his close friends. Irwin was such an amazing person. It's been years since i have seen him, but I will never forget what a Blessing it was to know him. I always knew him to put others first and not complain about what life brought his way. He truly had a genuine heart, looked for the adventure in everything and was protective as a guard dog. He truly touched the lives of people who knew him. I know he will be deeply missed.

My fondest memories of Irwin are sitting in his apartment with him eating fried chicken and shooting the breeze about random stuff.  I especially enjoyed talking with him about our favorite MTV reality show “The Jersey Shore.”  Once Irwin would get going about the cast of Jersey Shore, he would become so animated and laugh so hard he would literally be doubled over on the couch.  He was so much fun to talk to, my stomach usually hurt from laughing so hard when I left.  

Like he did with so many others, Irwin left a lasting impression on me.  His energy and positive outlook on life touched everyone he encountered and personally, I found it hard not to smile when Irwin was around.  He was truly a special human being and I consider myself lucky and honored to have had the opportunity to know Mr. Irwin Deguzman.  You will be missed and never forgotten Irwin.

I'm deeply sorry for the passing of your loved one. I've been told stories about Irwin and how much he has been an inspiration amongst those who had the opportunity to meet him. I wish I could have met him myself because I'm sure we would have connected, especially through his passion in playing basketball, the sport I love also. He'll never be forgotten. Condolences.

One of the most selfless and strongest people I know has left us to watch over us so that we can be like him.  There are no words to express how much we will miss you.  You're at peace and not suffering anymore and that's all we want for you.  We will love you always.

All I can think about is how much he loved candy, and how a friend like Irwin is truly extraordinary.  I have not talked to Irwin in some long.  I can only smile when I think of our time together.  He was an incredible man and brought joy to everyone he came across.  I’m truly saddened by is passing, but shall find comfort knowing he is with the lord.

It's been few years that Irwin has been a friend; not just any kind of a friend though. Irwin stuck by me when times were tough and I was at a loss to know what to do. I don't know what I would have done without his help and guidance. My heart goes out to you; I know how much you will miss Irwin; so will I.

I met Irwin at West. He was the funniest, sweetest,most heart warming individual that I have ever met. He has always been an awesome father and friend. I feel like I lost a liltte brother.
