Jack was born on November 15, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to J.E. “Tom” and Norma
Sawyer. He graduated from Bossier High School in 1959 and from Louisiana State University in
1963. A savvy businessman, Jack worked as an Executive in the oil and gas industry, managing
a variety of assignments around the globe, including Louisiana, Colorado, Wyoming, Singapore,
Australia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Later in his career, he became a successful consultant and
investor in a variety of businesses. He and his wife, Bronwyn, loved the water and chose to
settle in Pensacola, Florida in 1992. They enjoyed sharing their home with family and friends,
which often included fun water activities like swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing. Jack
was a man of many interests – through the years he was an avid golfer, snow and water skier,
pilot, scuba diver, and LSU Tigers football fan. In his younger years he also toured the rodeo
circuit and was a deputized sheriff. He was a dedicated husband, a wise and loving father, and
a caring friend to many.
Jack is survived by his wife, Bronwyn Sawyer and his son, Jett Sawyer, both of Gulf Breeze, FL,
his daughter Stacy and her husband Sonny Pickett, of Hoover, AL, his daughter Shawn and her
husband Dave Pincus, of Fairfax, VA, and his daughter Stefanie and her husband Dwight
Bradshaw, of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by five grandchildren – Natalie, Isabel, Kyra,
Jon, and Jeremy as well as nephew Corey Perkins along with nieces -- Johanna, Addy, and
Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. “Tom” and Norma Sawyer.
