James Garrison Anderson

Gary was born in Pace, Florida and resided in Pensacola, Florida until four years ago when he moved to North Carolina. Gary graduated from Escambia High School in 1964 and was voted as Mr. Escambia. Gary joined the Air Force in August 1965, served in the Vietnam war and is a Vietnam Veteran. After completing his enlistment in the Air Force, he enrolled in electrical school at Pensacola Junior College in 1974. Gary started his Civil Service career in 1983 at NAS Pensacola in the Public Works Center Utilities High Voltage Department, he later transferred to Navy Public Works Electrical Shop in 1995. Gary retired from Public Works in April 2001 and later worked part time at Home Depot. Gary is a member of Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Gary is preceded in death by his parents Bob and Louise "Pat" Barrett of Pensacola, Florida. Survivors include his daughter, Stacey Anderson Mason Porter of

Pensacola, his granddaughter Haleigh Jo Mason of Ocean Springs, Mississippi (Blaine) his brother Michael Anderson of Pensacola, his niece Miranda Anderson of Pensacola, his nephew Beau Anderson (Helen) of Phoenix, Arizona and his fiance' Nancy Williams (formally from Pensacola) and her family. At the time of his death, Gary and Nancy lived in New Bern North Carolina along with his dog Jake. Gary knew no stranger.
