James H. Sanders

1928 – 2010

James H. “Jimmy” Sanders, 81 of Pensacola passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Jimmy was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He was a department manager for Delchamps and a service technician for Suburban Gas Company, was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and a member of the church choir. He enjoyed fishing, singing and was a part of the Escambia Search and Rescue.

Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years; Marilyn Irene Sanders, son; Lamar E. Sanders (Marilyn E.), three daughters; Margaret “Elaine” Burdine (Randy), Judy L. Cutts (Pat) and Linda M. Spears (Doyce); 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church. Father Joseph Callipare will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Lamar E. Sanders, Randy Burdine, Doyce Spears, Davy Sanders, Donnie Sanders, Sean Young and honorary pallbearers are Pat Cutts, Nick Young, Warren Cutts, Alex Pierce, Colton Sanders and Jason B. Spears. The interment will be at St. Johns Catholic Cemetery and a reception will follow at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

A 5:30 PM Rosary will be on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 and then visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at oaklawnfunerals.com
