

Janice Frances (Puel) Smeltzer passed from this earth on March 16, 2016, at her daughter’s home in Pensacola. She was born October 12, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1975, she moved to Pensacola and made it her home. She was an active member at St. John’s Catholic Church and School for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Eugene Smeltzer, USN (ret.); parents, Andrew Puel, USN (ret.) and Anna Mae (Taylor) Puel; and her brother Eugene Puel.
Janice is survived by her son, Paul Andrew Smeltzer (Melissa); daughter Laura Ann Baisden (Atilio); grandchildren Nathan and Natalie Smeltzer; brothers Andrew and George (Sharon) Puel; Debbie Pruczinski (Robert); and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, all of whom she loved very much.
Visitation will be held at Monday, March 21, 2016 at 9:15am at St John’s Catholic Church in Pensacola. A funeral mass will follow at 10:00am, with a burial service at Barrancas National Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Janice's life.
The family would like to thank the many people who have helped out throughout the years, with a huge thank you to Emerald Coast Hospice for their unwavering care and support.
