Joan Sue Noblin Parker, age 66, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 5, 2021, in the presence of her loving and devoted husband, John Parker, and other members of her immediate family at Southeast Health Medical Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
Joan was born May 31, 1955, the fourth child of Thea Mae and Billy Noblin, following Donna Marie, Ronald Gene, Carol Ann, and preceding Jane Louise. Joan grew up in Pensacola, Florida, eventually settling in Ashford, Alabama in 1992. She worked at Peoples South Bank and at Farley Nuclear Plant during her working years.
Joan was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her love for her family and friends was beyond measure. She always cherished the best in people and would do anything she could to help others. Despite many health challenges during her life, she faced every day with hope, joy, and enthusiasm. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She also loved her pets and enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
She learned about Jesus Christ from the greatest evangelist in the family, her Mom. One of Joan’s favorite songs was, “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me. The song begins, “I can only imagine, what it will be like, when I walk by your side.” She is now, and will forever be, walking by His side, and will have to imagine no more.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carol Ann, and her nephew Justin Harris. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, John Parker; children, Tonia Broussard (Barry) and Jeremy Vinson (Ashley); three siblings: Donna Harris, Ron Noblin (Mary), and Jane Conti (Rick); six grandchildren: Madison Crenshaw (Cole), Mitchell Marsh, Mahaley Marsh, Luke Vinson, Matthew Vinson, and Norah Vinson; and two great-grandchildren: Caine Crenshaw and Crew Crenshaw."
The family will honor Joan’s life with a graveside memorial service on Wednesday, November 24, at 11:00am, in Bayview Cemetery in Pensacola, FL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Wiregrass Humane Society (https://www.wiregrasshumanesociety.com/donate-now). Joan loved animals and adopted and cared for many cats and dogs over the years.
