John Raymond Howley, Age 78, of Milton, Florida passed away in his home on Monday, March 24, 2025. John was born on September 27, 1946 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to Pauline and Hurbert Howley. John had twin siblings (Mary and Bill) and a half sister, Rose Marie.
He Is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Mills Howley. They would have celebrated a marriage of 55 years on August 10,2025. He is also survived by three sons, Dean (Saundra), Brett (Gaynor) and Kelly (Jessica). John also leaves behind 2 grandsons, Travis & Trey Howley. Storm Howell joined the family at 2 months old. Barbara & John babysat him from infancy to his teenage years. He is now the father of a 7 year old son, Jack Howell.
John was raised in Massachusetts until he joined the Navy as a Fireman, then became a Chief Boiler Technician, Chief Howley received several medals, honors and awards throughout his career achievements. John was known as a friendly, hardworking, knowledgeable role model. He was well liked and considered to be a great teacher.
Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care. A Visitation for John will be held
Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 11:00 am-12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to directly follow until 1:30 pm; Immediately thereafter, there will be a procession to the burial site at Barrancas National Cemetery located at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola,Florida. The Military burial service will begin at 2:00 pm.
