John C. Zeitz

John was the son of Joseph and Kay Zeitz, and was born in Andalusia, AL. He grew up in Elizabethtown before meeting the love of his life, Patricia, in New Orleans, LA.

John has been a walking miracle for almost 14 years since he had a heart transplant, after fighting so hard to survive while waiting on the transplant list for years.

John Zeitz was a lover of music, good home cooking, adventure, nature, Kentucky basketball, and is known for his not always so appropriate sense of humor. He is the type of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back and anyone who truly knew him knew this about him. He was the true definition of southern hospitality. He enjoyed volunteering in his community, as he was part of the Lions club Eye foundation for many years. He was loved by so many.

The most important thing to him was the security and happiness of his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of 41 years; his twin daughters Egan Fisher and Kay Zeitz; his son-in-law Brian Fisher; his grandchildren Aura and Lennon; his beloved granddog Boogie; his brother Gray Zeitz; and his best friend Lynn Byars, who has always been by his side.
