Josephine “Josie” Wiggins, daughter of the late Robert and Frances Cutter, was born July 20, 1935 in Cook County Illinois. As a Navy Brat, she attended schools around the globe from the Philippines to Virginia, visiting every state in the United States along the way. She hit the last state on the list, Alaska, on her 70th birthday! Where ever Josie called home she was an active member of the community. From Blue Birds, Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts and Civil Air Patrol she was involved, especially if it was about children, the arts or assisting others. She had the ability to make everyone she encountered feel special and loved.
Josie was a talented artist, writer and poet. She received her Associates Degree from Brookdale Community College in NJ. In 1980 Josie relocated to Pensacola and has called this area her home since then. She loved the people, the town and most especially the beautiful white sand and gulf waters.
Josie gently departed this life on Saturday February 3; 2018, in the arms of her children; Cyndie, Michael and Mary.
Her beautiful life and spirit will be cherished forever. Josie is survived by her children; Cyndie Wiggins, Michael Wiggins, and Mary Ellen Wiggins, her grandchildren; Stefanie Mandelberg and her husband Corey and Alexa Wiggins, and her son-in-law’s; Paul Winters and Bob Crane and her two rescue puppies, Lucinda and Coco.
We will celebrate Josie's life from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 08, 2017 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
In lieu of flowers we respectfully request that donations be made in her honor to Camp Bluebird, an adult cancer survivors camp at:
