Judy Kathryn Cooper, known to friends and family as "Dude" passed away on 1/26/26 in Pensacola, Florida.
At the age of 83, she was truly one of a kind, an amazing soul who never met a stranger. A natural talker with a gift for conversation, she could turn a quick trip to the grocery store into a full social gathering. Conversations came easily to her, and before long she knew your story and you knew hers. If there is a phone line in heaven, we’re sure she’s already on it! Dude had the ability to never say bye on a call in under 20 minutes, if she did, she was calling right back for a better connection. Her laughter was warm, her stories were long, and her presence was unforgettable.
She lived her life anchored in a strong steady faith in God. Prayer was her refuge, carrying her through life's joys and sorrows. Until her last year, she was in church whenever the doors were open. Dude believed deeply and loved fiercely. Choosing grace over resentment, Dude took the command to ‘turn the other cheek’ to heart. She forgave freely.
She was a devoted widow of a United States Marine honoring his legacy with strength. She patiently knew one day she would reunite with him.
She embraced life with enthusiasm, especially when it came to food and sweets. She never turned down candy, dessert, or a good hearty meal. Dude believed in enjoying life's simple pleasures and encouraged everyone else to do the same.
Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life. She loved them deeply and without condition. They will forever carry her lessons, her laughter, and her love in their hearts.
Though our hearts are broken, we celebrate a life rooted in faith, family, sweetness and endless conversation. She loved big, gave freely and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
"Dude" was preceded in death by her Father, Frank Crutchfield; Mother, Frances (Ted) Gibson; Husband, Ronda Cooper; and Granddaughter, Lilyona Cooper.
She is survived by her sister, Lisa (Daniel) Alexander; her son, Ronnie Cooper; four grandchildren: Audreyanna Cooper, Steven Cooper, Noah Cooper, and Olivia Cooper; and one great-grandchild, Pasleigh-Ann Cooper.
